6 oil and gas enterprises honored “Enterprises meeting the standards of Vietnamese business culture” in 2022

On 3rd December, in Hanoi, the second annual National “Culture & Business” Forum 2022 took place with the theme “Cultural revival - the foundation for recovery and sustainable economic development". Attending the forum and directly honoring enterprises was Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.

The forum is organized by the Central Committee for Propaganda and Training, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Organization Committee for the Campaign to “Build Vietnamese Corporate Culture” (Organization Committee 248), the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). The forum is the place to convey the message of the Campaign to Build Vietnamese Corporate Culture, create conditions, opportunities and environment for enterprises to express their culture through diverse and impressive activities

Honoring the “Enterprises meeting the standards of Vietnamese business culture” in 2022

The forum aims to realize the Party and State’s guidelines and policies on building Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable development of the country; affirm the role and importance of business culture and corporate culture in national economic development; exploit potentials, strengths and cultural resources as an important lever and support for economic recovery and development. 

As emphasized by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung at the opening of the Forum, in the current period, our country is facing opportunities and challenges intertwined from the multi-dimensional impacts of globalization and international integration. We have chosen to revive the national culture, protect the cultural identity, and promote the potential and strength of the national culture in building corporate culture and business culture as the core thing. 

Therefore, we should create a healthy business environment, contribute to policy creation and attract foreign investors, promote the endogenous strength of culture to form and develop Vietnam’s cultural industries, build strong Vietnamese enterprises not only able to compete at home but also reach the regional and world level. Each enterprise should become an ambassador to promote the values of Vietnamese people and culture to the world, spreading the “soft power” of Vietnamese culture. 

The forum is also an opportunity for the Party and State’s leaders to meet and discuss with the business community, listen to recommendations, proposals on mechanisms and policies to support enterprises, build corporate culture and business culture, spreading the Campaign to “Build Vietnamese corporate culture” launched by the Prime Minister.

The participants focused on exchanging and discussing such main issues as the Role, content and impact of cultural revival on sustainable economic development; Practical lessons of Vietnamese enterprises on promoting the role of culture in economic recovery and development, especially during and after the COVID-19 pandemic; Solutions to enhancing the role of culture in recovery and sustainable economic development in the post-COVID-19 context, geopolitical conflicts and the current global economic downturn. 

At the Forum, there was also a ceremony to honor and award the certificate of “Enterprises meeting the standards of Vietnamese business culture” in 2022 for 24 enterprises that meet the set of Criteria for Vietnamese Business Culture approved by the National Council. On the occasion, 6 enterprises of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) were honored including Branch of the Group – Bien Dong Petroleum Operating Company (BIEN DONG POC); Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR); Petrovietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC); Petrovietnam Transportation Joint Stock Corporation (PVTrans); Branch of Petrovietnam Gas Corporation - PV GAS Ca Mau; Petrovietnam Power Corporation (PV Power).

Criteria, criteria groups on Vietnamese business culture

The set of criteria for Vietnamese business culture includes 5 mandatory conditions: No smuggling, no tax evasion; Do not produce or trade in counterfeit or harmful products; Do not owe salary and social insurance of employees; Do not to defraud, take advantage of or harm other organizations and individuals; Do not break the law.

Criteria for evaluating the responsiveness of each enterprise regarding the set of criteria consist of 5 groups: Lead the business to develop sustainably; Build and practice corporate culture; Strictly abide by the law; Business ethic; Social responsibility.
