Petrovietnam President and CEO Le Manh Hung receives Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan

On 7th February in Hanoi, Petrovietnam President and CEO Le Manh Hung had a meeting with Mr. Laziz Kudratov - Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and the delegation visiting and working in Vietnam.

Participating in the delegation were Mr. Ulug’bek Rozukulov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan in Indonesia and Vietnam concurrently, and representative leaders of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

Also in attendance were Vice President Le Ngoc Son, representative leaders of the Divisions/ Administration Office of the Group and PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP).

At the meeting, Petrovietnam President and CEO Le Manh Hung welcomed Mr. Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and the delegation to visit and work with Petrovietnam. On the occasion, President and CEO Le Manh Hung introduced to the delegation briefly about Petrovietnam’s activities.

Petrovietnam is the country’s leading large-scale economic group operating in five main fields: oil and gas exploration and production, gas industry, power industry - renewable energy, oil and gas processing, and petroleum engineering services. As shared by President and CEO Le Manh Hung, Petrovietnam is building a development strategy to become the country’s leading industrial-energy corporation, with financial potential, scientific and technological level and management capacity on par with the region. Besides continuing to operate in 5 main areas, Petrovietnam will promote the development of new energy, renewable energy, and sustainable clean energy for the country such as natural gas/LNG, offshore renewable energy... to contribute to the goal of the Government of Vietnam in realizing the commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Overview of the meeting

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan congratulated Petrovietnam on the successes in recent years. According to the Minister’s sharing, Uzbekistan is also focusing on research and promotion of activities and projects in such fields as refining and petrochemicals, natural gas as well as renewable energy. Uzbek enterprises wish to seek investment opportunities and cooperate with large Vietnamese corporations such as Petrovietnam. In the coming time, the Minister wishes to promote cooperation with Petrovietnam in particular and Vietnamese enterprises in general in the energy field. Mr. Laziz Kudratov committed that the leader of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan would create conditions and support Vietnamese businesses to invest and cooperate in projects in Uzbekistan.

On behalf of the Group’s leaders, President and CEO Le Manh Hung expressed his wish to continue receiving the attention and support from the Government, Ministries of Uzbekistan as well as the Minister personally in the coming time in order to promote cooperation between Petrovietnam and Uzbek enterprises to be more effective in the trend of energy transition, thereby actively contribute to consolidating and strengthening the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Uzbekistan.
