Petrovietnam leaders receive and work with US- ASEAN Business Council delegation

On 22nd March 2023 in Hanoi, leaders of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) met and worked with a high-ranking business delegation of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC).

Mr. Michael Michalack - Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director is the head of the delegation; along with representatives from the US Embassy in Vietnam and from Energy Capital Vietnam, KKR, Bell, AES Holding B.V, Vriens & Partners…

On behalf of Petrovietnam’s leaders, Vice President Pham Tien Dzung chaired the meeting and together with the Divisions worked with the USABC delegation on the issues of mutual concern.

Vice President Pham Tien Dzung welcomed Mr. Michael Michalack - Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director of USABC and the delegation to visit and work with Petrovietnam.

Vice President Pham Tien Dzung shared an overview of the Group’s activities as well as the development strategy in the coming years. Besides developing core areas, Petrovietnam was very interested in developing renewable energy projects, sustainable clean energy for the country such as natural gas/LNG, offshore wind power, green hydrogen; contribute towards the big goal of the Government of Vietnam in implementing the net zero emission commitment by 2050.

At the meeting, Mr. Michael Michalack thanked Petrovietnam’s leaders for spending the time to welcome and work with the delegation during the past years. Mr. Michael Michalack highly appreciated Petrovietnam’s role in economic development as well as the important contribution to ensuring energy security of Vietnam.

During the meeting, leaders of the two sides updated information on the fields of cooperation as well as made proposals in the fields of exploration, production, processing of oil and gas, gas, electricity, oil and gas services; energy conversion, development of renewable energy, low carbon energy; training and development of human resources in science and technology, business administration, digital transformation technology in the development of the oil and gas industry.

The Group’s leaders also answered and discussed the concerns of the US business delegation and affirmed to support all the time and be ready to cooperate with partners in related fields. On the side of USABC, Mr. Michael Michalack pledged to always be the bridge to help Petrovietnam and its subsidiaries convey information and proposals to the US competent authorities.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides hoped the cooperation relationship between Petrovietnam and the US businesses would become closer and stronger in the future.
