At the meeting, Petrovietnam’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Hoang Quoc Vuong congratulated Mr. Mohammed Ismaeil A.Dahlwy - Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Vietnam in his new position, thanked the Ambassador and the delegation for visiting Petrovietnam and shared about some oil and gas activities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the development orientation of the energy, oil and gas industry of the Government of Saudi Arabia in the coming time.
Chairman Hoang Quoc Vuong emphasized the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the years. Cooperation between the two countries has been increasingly consolidated and strengthened in many fields.
Chairman Hoang Quoc Vuong shared with the Ambassador about Petrovietnam’s development strategy in the coming years. In addition to developing core areas such as exploration and production, the Group also focuses on developing renewable energy, sustainable clean energy projects for the country such as: natural gas/LNG, offshore wind power, green hydrogen; contribute towards the big goal of the Government of Vietnam in realizing the commitment to net zero emissions by 2050.

On the occasion, on behalf of the Group’s leaders, Petrovietnam’s Chairman of the Board of Directors expressed his wish to continue receiving attention and active support from the Government, Ministries of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the Ambassador personally in promoting effective cooperation between Petrovietnam and companies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the oil and gas sector as well as other sectors related to energy, technology, chemicals, trading in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
Ambassador Mohammed Ismaeil A.Dahlwy sincerely thanked Chairman Hoang Quoc Vuong for taking the time to receive the delegation and exchange ideas to promote cooperation in the oil and gas sector between the two countries. The Ambassador highly appreciated Petrovietnam’s role in socio-economic development as well as its important contribution to ensuring Vietnam’s energy security; between Petrovietnam and Saudi Arabian oil and gas companies in cooperation projects.
The Ambassador affirmed, as an Ambassador, he was ready to act as a bridge, support and closely coordinate with the authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support and create favorable conditions so that Petrovietnam and its subsidiaries would continue to have opportunities to expand cooperation in many fields with oil and gas companies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On the occasion, the Ambassador invited Petrovietnam leaders to participate in the meeting of the two countries’ Joint Committee scheduled in the third quarter of 2023 to contribute ideas and propose mechanisms to promote the implementation of the cooperation opportunities in the fastest way; At the same time, he proposed the Group’s leaders and Petrovietnam’s working group go to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to directly discuss new potential cooperation opportunities.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to actively exchange information, share experiences and promote cooperation opportunities in the coming time.
