Attending the meeting were leaders of the Divisions and Administration Office. 

On behalf of the Group’s leaders, Petrovietnam’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Hoang Quoc Vuong welcomed CEO of HSBC Vietnam to visit and work with the Group. On the occasion, Chairman Hoang Quoc Vuong shared with HSBC Vietnam’s leader about the operation situation of the Group and its member units in the past time as well as updated the situation of key energy projects that the Group has been implementing. 

Overview of the meeting

At the meeting, Mr. Tim Evans, CEO of HSBC Vietnam thanked Petrovietnam’s leaders for facilitating and supporting HSBC Vietnam in cooperation projects between the two sides and emphasized that Petrovietnam has been a long-time customer and strategic, important partner to the Bank since the early days of its operation in Vietnam.

CEO of HSBC Vietnam Tim Evans also informed the Group’s leader about HSBC’s cooperation with Petrovietnam in successfully arranging capital raising transactions for the Group’s key projects. Leader of HSBC Vietnam looked forward to continuing to receive the attention and cooperation of Petrovietnam in the coming time, and was committed to providing the best financial solutions and services for Petrovietnam and its member units.

As shared by Chairman Hoang Quoc Vuong at the meeting, in the context of a very strong energy transition, Petrovietnam aims to become a leading energy group in the country and in the region, giving priority to developing and expanding renewable energy sources, sustainable clean energy for the country such as natural gas/LNG, offshore wind power, hydrogen and green ammonia...; contribute towards the goal of the Government of Vietnam in realizing the commitment of net-zero emissions by 2050. 

Petrovietnam and HSBC strengthen cooperation in the field of renewable energy

In order to ensure the sustainable development of the Group, in the coming period, Petrovietnam will focus on implementing renewable energy projects, especially offshore wind power projects suitable to the potential and strength of the Group. Petrovietnam Chairman Hoang Quoc Vuong hopes that HSBC Vietnam and the Group will strengthen cooperation in the field of renewable energy as well as in other key projects of the Group in the future. The Group’s leader is also committed to creating favorable conditions for HSBC to participate in raising capital and providing financial solutions for key projects of the Group.
