Attending the meeting were Petrovietnam Vice President Le Xuan Huyen, representatives of Divisions and Administration Office of the Group.

On behalf of the Group’s leaders, President and CEO Le Manh Hung welcomed Mr. Shovgi Mehdizada to visit and work with Petrovietnam, and emphasized the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and Azerbaijan over the years. At the same time, he expressed his deep gratitude for the support and facilitation of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Vietnam in general and Petrovietnam in particular in the process of building and developing the oil and gas industry.

President and CEO Le Manh Hung also shared with the Ambassador about Petrovietnam’s development strategy in the coming years. In addition to developing core areas, the Group would focus on developing renewable energy, sustainable clean energy projects for the country such as natural gas/LNG, offshore wind power, green hydrogen; contribute towards the big goal of the Government of Vietnam in implementing the commitment to net zero emissions by 2050.

Ambassador Shovgi Mehdizada sincerely thanked Petrovietnam President and CEO Le Manh Hung for taking the time to receive and exchange ideas in order to promote cooperation in the oil and gas sector between the two countries. The Ambassador highly appreciated Petrovietnam’s role in economic development as well as its important contribution to ensuring energy security of Vietnam and in cooperation projects with the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in particular in recent times.

The Ambassador affirmed that, in his role as Ambassador, he was ready to act as a bridge, support and closely coordinate with the authorities of Azerbaijan to support and create favorable conditions for Petrovietnam and its subsidiaries to continue having opportunities to cooperate in many fields with Azerbaijani oil and gas companies.

The two sides agreed to actively exchange information, share experiences and promote cooperation opportunities in the coming time.
