Petrovietnam donates 50 billion dong to Covid-19 Vaccine Fund

Joining hands with the whole country to “fight the epidemic like fighting the enemy”, on 28th May 2021, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) officially donated 50 billion dong to the Covid-19 Vaccine Fund.

On behalf of the leaders, staff and employees of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, President and CEO Le Manh Hung donated the above amount to the Covid-19 Vaccine Fund, including 10 billion dong from the Group’s parent company; 10 billion dong from Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS); 5 billion dong from Vietsovpetro; 5 billion dong from Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR); 5 billion dong from Petrovietnam Power Corporation (PV Power); 5 billion dong from Petrovietnam Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP); 5 billion dong from Petrovietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans) and 5 billion dong from Petrovietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC). Petrovietnam is also calling on the member units to continue supporting the Covid-19 Vaccine Fund.

President and CEO Le Manh Hung shared that, with his responsibilities, over the past time, Petrovietnam has joined hands, together with ministries, sectors, functional agencies, organizations and businesses, in the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic, with the highest goal of keeping the safe environment for the people. One more time, employees of the Group has provided contribution, together with the Ministry of Health, sectors and localities, to the prevention and control of epidemic and the implementation of vaccination program. President Le Manh Hung hoped that Petrovietnam workers would contribute a part of the effort, together with the Ministry of Health, branches, functional agencies and people nationwide join hands to fight the epidemic.  

Petrovietnam President and CEO also thanked the medical forces, functional sectors, and organizations, individuals, businesses and people for their participation in preventing and controlling epidemic, and keeping stable environment for the businesses including Petrovietnam to operate safely and effectively during the past time.

Since the Covid-19 epidemic broke out again on 27th April 2021, Petrovietnam and its member units have supported tens of billions of dong and in kind to the health sector and localities on the front lines of the fight against the epidemic. At the same time, in order to protect the health of 56,000 oil and gas workers due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, PetroVietnam Trade Union has supported affiliated unions with 2.8 billion dong to buy supplies and necessities for the prevention and control of epidemic. Petrovietnam has also implemented a series of proactive measures such as activating emergency situations in the epidemic prevention and control, rehearsing the F0 appearance plan, screening tests for workers and employees, and especially conducting the first round of vaccination.

In the coming time, Petrovietnam and its member units will actively coordinate with ministries, sectors and health facilities to continue deploying vaccination against Covid-19 for all employees in the Group.

Thus, from 2020 until now, Petrovietnam employees have joined hands, contributed to and supported the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control with a total amount of over 100 billion dong.
