PV Drilling began participating in the Malaysian drilling market in 2017 with its first drilling contract also carried out by the PV DRILLING III. Since 2017, PV Drilling has regularly maintained from 1 to 2 jack-up drilling rigs to provide drilling services in this market. Malaysia has also simultaneously become a familiar drilling market to PV Drilling, with many drilling achievements established here.
The ‘Best Rig’ award of PV DRILLING III.
Specifically, the PV DRILLING III alone has regularly received high ratings from Malaysian clients, such as in the first quarter of 2018, the rig was named ‘Best Drilling Rig’, and was also given a Recognition award from Petronas - Malaysia’s National Petroleum Company - to recognize its safe and effective operations, contributing to bringing the Bunga Pakma into production earlier than the original plan by 1 month and 19 days. In 2019, PV DRILLING III continued to receive a Recognition award from Petronas for its outstanding achievements in drilling operation and HSE performance, helping the drilling campaign in Bunga Orkid Delta (BOD) to complete ahead of schedule. Additionally, PV DRILLING III also received a Certification of Merit from Repsol in 2019 for its record of safe operation and completion ahead of schedule in the drilling campaign of 4 wells at Bunga Kekwa and the Bunga Saffron appraisal well. At the beginning of the first quarter of 2023, the PV DRILLING III rig set a record for drilling the longest well in Malaysia with a length of 6,963 meters. PV DRILLING III has also just received a letter of commendation from client Hibiscus Petroleum for its excellent performance in the evaluation period of the last 6 months of 2023.
The success of the PV DRILLING III rig has made an important contribution in PV Drilling’s journey of prosperity in the Malaysian drilling market, and acts as a precedent so that PV Drilling can confidently approach and provide services in other potential drilling market, thereby strengthening its brand reputation on the international drilling market and firmly implement the sustainable development strategy.
