Petrovietnam: Respond promptly to “double crisis”

In the first 5 months of 2020, most of large groups and corporations both in the country and abroad, especially large international oil and gas companies faced difficulties and losses due to the impact of the “double crisis” from the decline in oil price and the Covid-19 epidemic, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) still recorded positive business results. Notably, in the first 5 months of the year, Petrovietnam contributed 28.9 trillion dong to the State Budget.

Despite difficulties and challenges in the context of “dual crisis” from the Covid-19 pandemic and the decline in oil price, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) has recognized opportunities to consolidate the “formation”, ready for a new stage of development. The spirit of Petrovietnam is to achieve the “dual goal” in the “dual crisis”, that is to ensure effective prevention of epidemic as well as ensure production and business. This spirit has helped Petrovietnam withstand the “storm”.

Being aware of this, Petrovietnam is determined to fulfill and over-fulfill the plan right from the first days and the first month of the year.

On 22nd August 2019 in Hanoi, on the official visit to Vietnam of Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc introduced Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and proposed to promote cooperation for energy, oil and gas between PVN and Australian Corporations/ Companies. With the consent of the Prime Minister, PVN delegation led by Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors visited and worked with Australian partners from 14th to 19th October 2019.
