Petrovietnam is willing to expand cooperation with Korean businesses

On 4th July, at the headquarters of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), Petrovietnam Vice President Le Xuan Huyen received and worked with Mr. Min Moonki - Commercial Attaché of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam.

Attending the meeting were the Chief Representative of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and the Chief Representative of Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS). On the side of Petrovietnam, there were representatives of the Divisions of Trade and Services, Gas Industry, Refining and Petrochemicals, Oil and Gas Production, and the Administration Office of the Group.

On behalf of the Group’s leaders, Vice President Le Xuan Huyen welcomed the trade representative of the Korean Embassy and representatives of Korean businesses to visit and work with Petrovietnam; informed the delegation about the operation of Petrovietnam as well as the current cooperation projects between Petrovietnam and its subsidiaries and Korean partners. 

Overview of the meeting

Currently, Petrovietnam and Korean businesses such as KNOC, LG, SK/SKI/SK E&C, Hyundai, Samsung C&T, GS E&C, POSCO Engineering, Daelim, Doosan... are cooperating in the fields from upstream to downstream, technical services, oil and gas finance. Cooperation projects between Petrovietnam and Korean partners have brought practical effects to the parties. 

Mr. Min Moonki - representative of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam thanked Petrovietnam’s leaders for their attention and support to Korean businesses in the past time in order to strongly promote the strategic cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Korea. On the occasion, Mr. Min Moonki wished that Petrovietnam’s leaders would continue to support and create favorable conditions for Korean businesses to invest in energy development projects in Vietnam. Mr. Min Moonki pledged to always be ready to support the activities of Korean and Vietnamese enterprises, especially those in the Oil and Gas industry, in order to serve the common interests of the two countries as well as the oil and gas enterprises of the two sides.

The chief representatives of KEPCO and KOGAS expressed their interest in promoting and expanding cooperation with Petrovietnam and its subsidiaries such as PVOIL, PVGAS, PVPower... in investing in LNG terminals, LNG power, gas supply…

Petrovietnam Vice President Le Xuan Huyen emphasized that Vietnam and Korea had a long-term strategic cooperation relationship, especially in the fields of oil and gas and energy. Currently, Petrovietnam is actively implementing energy projects from the beginning to the end, especially focusing on the fields of oil and gas exploration, production, processing, electricity and renewable energy, and energy transition. Petrovietnam wished to receive the support of the Korean Embassy for a number of current important projects, promote cooperation between the two sides, at the same time welcomed Korean businesses to study and participate in investment cooperation with Petrovietnam and its subsidiaries to develop projects in potential fields, bringing benefits to both sides, continuing to actively contribute to strengthening the strategic cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Korea.
