In accordance with the 2022 Petroleum Law (effective from July 1, 2023) and with government approval, on March 31, 2025, Petrovietnam signed a Petroleum Sharing Contract (PSC) for Block 15-2 in the Cuu Long Basin. The contract was signed in collaboration with the contractor consortium, including Japan Vietnam Petroleum Company Limited (JVPC)—a wholly owned subsidiary of ENEOS Xplora, Japan—and Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP).

During an official visit to the United States, Vietnam's Minister of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Hong Dien, led a working delegation—including representatives from Petrovietnam Group and its subsidiaries—to engage with the US Trade Representative (USTR), the Department of Energy (DOE), and other relevant agencies. As part of this trip, Petrovietnam and its member units signed several economic and trade cooperation agreements with US partners.

PV GAS and PETRONAS Strengthen Cooperation in the LNG Sector

On March 26, 2025, a delegation from Malaysia’s national oil and gas company PETRONAS, led by Vice President Mr. Shamsairi M. Ibrahim, visited the headquarters of PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) to explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation in the gas and LNG value chain. The working session was part of efforts to implement the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) previously signed between Petrovietnam and PETRONAS.
