MoIT has a working session with Korean partners on nuclear power cooperation

On the afternoon of February 24, 2025, within the framework of a working trip to Korea, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien had a working session with leaders of several Korean enterprises including Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and KEPCO E&C, KEPCO Nuclear Fuel, Doosan Enerbility to promote nuclear power cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.

Construction of key thermal power plant begins

The O Mon 4 Thermal Power Plant will bring Petrovietnam’s total installed capacity to over 9,3000 MW, accounting for around 10% of the country’s total power capacity. Once completed, the plan will provide clean and stable power to the national grid and contribute to promoting the economic growth.

More than 30 years after the commercial exploitation agreement between Vietnam and Malaysia was signed for the PM3 block, natural gas from the PM3 Commercial Arrangement Area (CAA) has been brought ashore and effectively utilized to boost Vietnam’s socio-economic development. It has invigorated the southernmost region of the country and contributed significantly to the growth of the Mekong Delta.
