VPI conducts industrial testing of water-in-oil demulsification chemical

The Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) has conducted research on manufacturing a demulsifier chemical to improve the efficiency of water separation in crude oil during production and transportation in the Cuu Long basin. The objective of this study is to produce a suilable demulsifier chemical with the characteristics of Vietnam's crude oil and trial test in field, thereby commercializing the product and replacing imported products.

VPI applied machine learning model and artificial intelligence to predict fractures in the basement rock

The Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) said that it has applied artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms to readily identify the presence of fractures in basement rock with an accuracy of more than 80%, saving drilling time and cost.

ASCOPE successfully organizes 6th Mid-year Meeting of Sub-Committees

From 2nd to 5th August 2022, the 6th Mid-year Meeting of the ASEAN Council on Petroleum (ASCOPE) Sub-Committees chaired by ASCOPE Secretary General Tran Hong Nam was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand. Attending the meeting were more than 70 members from the Southeast Asian member countries.
