Petrovietnam Strengthens Cooperation with International Energy Partners at APPEC 2026

From September 6 to 10, 2026, a delegation from Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group (Petrovietnam), led by Vice President Le Xuan Huyen, attended the 42nd Asia Pacific Petroleum Conference (APPEC 2026) in Singapore. During the visit, the delegation also conducted a series of meetings and engagement activities with leading international energy groups, trading companies, and energy market intelligence organizations.

As part of the program, the Petrovietnam delegation held high-level meetings with major international oil and gas companies, energy trading houses, and leading market intelligence providers, including Aramco Trading, Vitol, Chevron, S&P Global Energy, and Idemitsu International (Asia). The delegation also strengthened exchanges and engagement with KPC/KPI, Trafigura, and other partners. Discussions focused on promoting cooperation in energy trading, identifying and diversifying sources of crude oil and petroleum products, thereby enhancing supply flexibility and contributing to energy security amid market volatility, supply chain disruptions, or adverse geopolitical developments.

A key highlight of the visit was Petrovietnam’s participation in the main APPEC 2026 Conference, which provided direct access to the latest assessments, trends, and forecasts on global energy markets, particularly developments in supply and demand, crude oil and petroleum product prices, security of supply, geopolitical impacts, shifts in global trade flows, and the outlook for the refining and petrochemical markets. The delegation also held a working session with S&P Global Energy, during which it received in-depth market updates and observed the Market on Close (MOC) process firsthand. The information, analyses, and forecasts obtained during APPEC provide valuable references for Petrovietnam’s market analysis and forecasting activities, supporting management decisions for production and business operations in the final months of 2026, while also contributing to the development of scenarios and strategic directions for the period ahead.
